TikTok Filter & Artist Statement

Artist Statement: For my digital art project, I wanted to explore 3D modeling and animation through a playful and experimental breakfast scene. Using Blender’s sculpting mode and additional tools, I crafted three objects: a fried egg, a piece of toast, and melting butter. Each object was carefully shaped to capture organic textures, from the softness of the egg white to the subtle melting effect of the butter. Beyond static models, I animated these elements which added a sense of life and whimsy to an otherwise ordinary project.

After using Blender, I imported these animated objects into Effect House where I used some AR filters. The result is a fun and engaging experience where people are immersed in a floating breakfast composition. While the toast and egg hover slightly high on the screen (partially obscuring the face actually) was unintended but really adds an element of absurdity, reinforcing my playful nature of the work. The filter I used radiates a warm and inviting tone, with sparkles around the face enhancing the nostalgic and comforting theme of breakfast.

I planned to create a lot more with this project, but I had a crappy spring break with another family member passing away which obscured my ability to focus on the project. I learned a lot in Blender and want to continue to practice it under better circumstances.
